American pet hotel chain sells 16 new franchises in H1 2024
K9 Resorts targets an increase in operations and eyes new states as part of its expansion plans.
In the first 6 months of 2024, K9 Resorts sold 16 operation licenses in Colorado, Indiana, Utah, Nevada, Iowa, North Carolina and Florida. This marks more franchise agreements in the period than all of 2023.
“K9 Resorts is excited about the prospects of at least doubling that number by the end of 2024,” CEO and Co-Founder Jason Parker says to GlobalPETS.
Parker expects 2024 to be a “record-setting year” for resort openings, doubling from year to year the total number of units opened in a year.
Expansion plans
GlobalPETS learned that the New Jersey-headquartered firm aims to enter new states this year, including Ohio, Arkansas, Tennessee and California.
It will also increase its penetration and brand recognition in Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania, New York and North Carolina.
Earlier this year, K9 Resorts secured a $10 million (€9.1M) investment from hospitality service provider Partners Pacific Resorts (PPR) to open 30 new locations. The company reported an increase in year-on-year (YoY) average unit volume as part of its “impressive” mid-year growth.
