BrightPet expands freeze-dried and raw food capabilities with new acquisition

With the takeover of Oregon-based Raw Advantage, the firm will gain access to the US West Coast.

Pet food and treat manufacturer BrightPet Nutrition Group has announced the acquisition of Raw Advantage, a producer of freeze-dried and frozen raw pet food.

Through the acquisition of Raw Advantage, BrightPet gains access to the Oregon-based company’s West Coast operations, which can “open doors to high-growth opportunities both domestically and internationally.”

Furthermore, the manufacturer is eager to explore production locations in the Midwest and East Coast for its kibble, baked traits and freeze-dried foods to increase its manufacturing capabilities.

According to BrightPet’s CEO, Dave Kowal, both companies hope to work together to deliver premium products that meet their customers’ “high standards.”

Growing demand

BrightPet’s acquisition is strategic as it allows the company to cater to the growing demand for premium freeze-dried and frozen raw pet food and treats while strengthening its position as a trusted and innovative provider of pet nutrition products.

Financial analysts Market Watch reported that the frozen pet food segment “looks promising over the next 5 years.” In 2022, it was estimated at $19.6 billion (€‎17.9B).

The acquisition of Raw Advantage marks the third takeover with the backing of private equity firm A&M Capital and Partners. Last year, BrightPet acquired frozen and raw food company Bravo.
