CBD company Real Brands acquires R&D bioscience lab
The Florida company bought the assets of Boulder Botanical & Biosciences Laboratories for $12 million.
The transaction will allow Real Brands to expand its R&D capabilities and increase its production capacity by 300% within the human, pet supplement, and CBD markets.
“Boulder Botanical has had an excellent reputation for creating quality sports medicine, health and wellness herbal supplements and cannabinoid formulations, and its white-label manufacturing services exceeding industry standards,” said Thom Kidrin, President and CEO of Real Brands.
Kidrin added that Boulder Botanical’s existing national distribution network serving CVS, Target, Costco, and other retailers, combined with its expertise in online sales and the metaverse, “enables ready access to millions of existing customers and millions more potential customers online and in person.”
The takeover also includes all 150 Boulder Botanical brands, intellectual property, and a 27,000-square-foot facility in Colorado.
Boulder Botanical was acquired by Franken Investments in April 2022. Its R&D portfolio for pets includes CBD products, from bacon-flavored tinctures to dog treats and biscuits.
