Central Garden & Pet acquires premium dog treat company
Virginia-based TDBBS will help the retailer bolster its position in the category.
The largest distributor of garden and pet supplies in the US has announced a new business development detailing its acquisition of TDBBS, a premium natural dog treat provider in
Richmond, Virginia.
Central Garden & Pet, which will take over the firm from former private equity owner Bregal Partners, hopes to boost its e-commerce capabilities with the takeover.
For Central’s Interim CEO Beth Springer, TDBBS’s “established brands and digital capabilities” will help bolster its position in the sizeable treat and chew category.
“Central’s resources, capabilities and expertise in the pet industry will be key to growing our business further,” adds Tom Goundrey, CEO of TDBBS.
The deal was closed on November 3. More details on the development will be released alongside Central’s Q4 2023 earnings scheduled for later in the month.
