CIPS 2020: Online + Offline
The CIPS show, November 12-15th, will also be runned as an online platform from November 12 till the 20th.
Due to the COVID epidemic China the Chinese consumer switched en mass to the online platforms. According to JD.com the mid-year total sales have increased 360% compared with last year. The fastest growing group of consumers are those born after 1995, or so called Z Generation. Pet shops delivered products and serve their clients through social media and other online platforms.
The total active users of Tiktok in China reached even 518 million in March, 14.7% increase compared with 2019, while the average time spent increased by 72.5%. Tiktok has added shopping function, followed by more and more apps.
It becomes clear that the Chinese pet industry is digitizing.
This trend is followed by the CIPS by launching the CIPS Online Trade Show, the first b2b online show in China.
CIPS Online Trade Show will be held on No. 12 to 20. This 24/7 platform provides unlimited access to the latest products from CIPS exhibitors. Powered by the latest technology, CIPS Online Trade Show offers real time communication with suppliers via various messages, phone calls, and video calls, for those who cannot attend the show or those who would like to preview the products before walking the show.
In June and July, CIPS also launched four small scale online sessions with success, attracting buyers from 78 countries/regions, with more than 2000 online match meetings and live communication.
In the follow-up buyer survey, 85% of the buyers believed that online trade would become a trend in the future, and 92% of the buyers have experienced that the online show has support them with their trade.
CIPS as the Industry’s hub of, off- and online, distribution channels, covers international trade and domestic trade, is expected to be the gateway for brands to enter Asian market, as well as the proofed largest sourcing platform in Asia.
To assit their clients of benefitting from online platforms the CIPS invites major domestic and international e-commerce platform to share their insights and experiences.
In 2019 they pooled together 1,387 exhibitors from 24 countries at a 130,000 m2 show floor. This year they expect even 1500 exhibitors.
