Czech Super Zoo opens 350th store

The pet retailer chain witnesses a 12% sales increase in the last year.

Super Zoo, owned by the Plaček Group, has recently opened the doors to its 350th store in Pilsen, 90 kilometers west of capital Prague.

The company said that the new location was opened due to customer demand and after seeing an increase in year-on-year sales of around 12%.

“Accessibility for all customers is a priority for us,” says Dušan Plaček, Owner and Founder of the Plaček Group.

The Plaček Group, which has been active for over 30 years, has stores under the brand name Super Zoo in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, Kakadu Zoo in Poland and Dino Zoo in Latvia.

Portfolio expansion

Super Zoo aims to innovate its product range and services this year. Its latest portfolio expansion includes Elbeville, an ultra-premium holistic dog food produced with high-quality local ingredients.

The company also plans to shift its focus to environmental responsibility, corporate social responsibility (CSR) actions and the welfare of abandoned pets. The company recently partnered with the movie Gump – Us Two to help abandoned pets.

“We have decided not to build our partnership only on product placement but to support it with a long-term campaign aimed primarily at supporting animal shelters and educating society in this area,” says Chief Operating Officer Luboš Rejchrt.
