Fressnapf opens new logistic warehouse near Berlin

The new facility will supply products to the German, Polish and Scandinavian markets.

German pet retailer Fressnapf has officially opened its new logistics warehouse in a bid to expand the business activities of the company.

The 47,500 meter-squared facility, located in the industrial and commercial suburb of Treskow in Brandenburg, is strategically located near the A24 federal highway and easily connected to the center of Berlin.

The new facility will allow Fressnapf to supply more than 400 stores across Northern and Eastern Germany, Poland and Scandinavia.

Christian Buschmann, Vice President of Logistics, Engineering and Real Estate for the Fressnapf Group, says the company is “pleased to now move into the property and put it into operation quickly.”

It is believed that the new warehouse will create 150 new jobs.

Prioritizing sustainability

Sustainability was important during construction. Panattoni, the developer of the building, implemented photovoltaic and rainwater systems to process water and irrigate outdoor facilities.

Fred-Markus Bohne, Managing Partner at Panattoni Europe, highlights that Fressnapf’s new logistic center enables the pet retailer “to further drive its growth in Europe and at the same time meets high sustainability standards.”
