Granovit expands Swiss pet nutrition concepts for global retail

Granovit’s story began in 1256 as a mill in the Basel region of Switzerland. Nearly 7 centuries later, in 1925, that same Swiss craftsmanship turned toward animal nutrition, a shift that has since grown Granovit into Switzerland’s only dry pet food manufacturer, with 3 facilities in Kaiseraugst, Lucens and Gossau, and its own in-house R&D team working entirely on Swiss soil.

For 100 years, Granovit has nourished more than 150 species, from flamingos and lions to agricultural livestock and companion animals, with the same Swiss precision and rigour, whatever the animal and whatever the need.

That century of expertise enters a new phase with Iso-Dog® and Iso-Cat®, built on the core premise that every ingredient must serve a specific functional purpose at each life stage. The result is Swiss science translated into benefits an animal can feel: sustained energy, resilience and long-term wellbeing built from the inside out.

The concept was formulated with the University of Zurich, grounded in decades of Swiss research and refined by a team that has spent a century asking what animals truly need. That discipline and attention to detail are what set the concept apart.

International response at Interzoo 2026

At Interzoo 2026 in Nuremberg, Granovit brought Iso-Dog® and Iso-Cat® to the international pet industry for the first time. Visitors from more than 40 countries came to the stand, drawn by the science behind the concept and the Swiss precision supporting it. Even competitors stopped by, with more than one noting that they could see something genuinely distinctive in the market.

For Granovit, Interzoo wasn’t just a launch. It was confirmation that Swiss science, done properly, still stands apart.
