HR alert (I): Swedencare, Leiber and Pets at Home reshuffle senior leadership

The latest developments include an upcoming CEO transition and new commercial and supply chain appointments at Leiber. GlobalPETS rounds up the details.

Swedencare

Swedencare announced the departure of Håkan Lagerberg as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

The Malmö-based pet care company says it will soon begin the process of appointing a successor. In the meantime, Lagerberg will remain in his role during his 12-month notice period to ensure an orderly and well-planned leadership transition.

“Since acquiring the company in 2014 and assuming the role of CEO, he [Lagerberg] has transformed Swedencare into a leading global animal health group. Under his leadership, the company has delivered strong growth, expanded into new product categories and geographies, and successfully completed its public listing journey,” says Thomas Eklund, Chairman of the Board at Swedencare.

Leiber

Norman Loop is the new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of German yeast manufacturer Leiber.

In his new role, Loop will lead the company’s commercial strategy, focusing on sales, customer relationships and business development as Leiber expands its international presence.

Prior to joining Leiber, Loop worked at the Stern-Wywiol Group, where he held several leadership positions. He spent 7 years in Singapore, overseeing business activities across Asia-Pacific (APAC), before becoming Regional Director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), where he was responsible for the region and its international subsidiaries.

“I am very much looking forward to actively shaping Leiber’s future direction. The company has a strong market position and exciting prospects. Together with the team, I want to unlock new potential, further strengthen our international presence and successfully continue along our growth path,” says Loop.

Pets at Home

Phil Hackney has taken on the role of Supply Chain and Distribution Director at Pets at Home.

Hackney first joined the British pet retailer in 2007 as Logistics Director, a position he held for more than 9 years. He later became Chief Operating Officer (COO) at The Very Group, where he led digital and technology-enabled initiatives across supply chain and IT.

Most recently, Hackney served as COO of Matalan, a British fashion and homeware value retailer, for nearly 2 years.

Pets at Home currently operates a network of 451 stores, with more than 8,913 colleagues across its stores, grooming salons, distribution centers and support office.
