Indian animal healthcare firm Zenex acquires Ayurvedic pet businesses

The takeover of Ayurvet marks a milestone in Zenex’s journey to becoming a comprehensive animal health care solutions company.

Zenex, one of India’s largest animal healthcare companies, has acquired Ayurvet, a supplier of Ayurvedic and herbal medicines for companion animals. How much the company spent on the acquisition was not disclosed.

Buying Ayurvet is expected to help Zenex’s global growth, especially in Europe, with the company being praised for its wealth of research and development (R&D), new product capabilities, robust brand portfolio and strong management and sales team.

“The acquisition will augment Zenex’s growth, as it operates in a completely complementary space to the Company’s current operations,” says CEO Arun Atrey.

The Gujarat-based company may continue to make similar acquisitions in the near future as stakeholders confirm they are continuously seeking acquisition opportunities to enhance the company’s sales and distribution network.
