Kent Group subsidiary acquires two Australian pet care companies

FibreCycle seeks to expand its footprint further afield than the United States with the new takeovers.

FibreCycle, a subsidiary of the Kent Group in Iowa, announced the takeover of Our Bird, a company that specializes in high-quality birdseed and cat litter.

The company, based in Toowomba (Queensland), has a successful history of supplying major Australian retailers.

“I am excited for the enhanced value we can provide our existing and new customers by combining the strengths of FibreCycle with those of Our Bird,” claimed Gage Kent, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of Kent Corporation.

“As always, a strong commitment to our core values will guide our success as we further invest into the companion animal market in Australia.”

Second takeover

The Kent Group also acquired Victoria-based pet food manufacturer Lovitts, which supplies its products to leading Australian retailers.

The company’s portfolio includes supplements, cat litter, birdseed, and food for dogs and small animals, such as rabbits, guinea pigs, rats and mice.

“Lovitts has a proven record, in its own right, of providing valued products to consumers. I am thrilled to welcome Lovitts to the Kent family of companies as we continue our purpose of helping a growing world do more from field to family,” celebrated Kent.

Kent Pet Group was founded in 1927 in Indianola, Iowa, and is currently present in 20 countries with different business units. FibreCycle manufactures cat litter, small animal bedding and breeding equipment.
