Kräuter Mix (Germany) takes on a new managing director

Kräuter Mix GmbH from Abtswind, Germany, is taking steps to strengthen its senior management team. Starting as managing director from March 1, 2021, Holger Popp is set to take on responsibility for the company’s Sales, Purchasing and Sustainability Management departments.

The 52-year-old joins Kräuter Mix from the Raps Group in Kulmbach, Germany, where he headed up Purchasing and served on the management team. As well as bringing industry expertise in the field of herbs, vegetables and spices, Holger Popp has more than 20 years of experience as a manager in a medium-sized family-owned company in the food industry.

“We are delighted to be bringing recognized expert Holger Popp on board to broaden our management team,” explained managing partners Christoph Mix and Bernhard Mix, who going forward will focus on the company’s strategic orientation following many years of expansion. Silke Wurlitzer will continue to lead Administration and Finance, IT and Marketing as managing director.

Given the company’s successful growth in recent years, the move to onboard Holger Popp and redistribute management roles accordingly within the now four-person senior management team takes the company’s increasing size into due account. “We believe we are ideally equipped for the future to successfully expand our market position with our 475 employees,” said Christoph Mix and Bernhard Mix. 2020 saw the international industrial supplier for the food, phytopharmaceutical, tea, extract, spirit and pet food sectors achieve a record €132 million turnover. This marks a first in the company’s 102-year history, establishing it as a leading manufacturer and trading company for air-dried plant-based raw materials.
