Mars to raise production in its Kansas plant by 75%

The global pet food manufacturer invested $82 million to expand the US facility.
The company expects to increase the production capacity for Greenies, a brand of dental treats and pill pockets, to 940 million treats annually.
In addition, the investment will be used to install new processing and packaging equipment, utilities and infrastructure to support growing demand.
“As the bond between people and their pets has never been stronger, we’re dedicated to answering the ever-growing needs of pet parents,” claimed Ikdeep Singh, Global President at Mars Pet Nutrition.
The company’s plant in Kansas employs more than 260 people and it expects to create a further 95 job opportunities.
Construction started earlier this year and finalization is expected in early 2023.
Earlier this year, Mars Petcare announced a $100 million investment to expand its wet pet food manufacturing facility in the Mexican city of Querétaro to support the growing demand in the Mexican market.
