Mondi to expand production capabilities in European plants
The packaging multinational is investing €65 million to meet the growing demand for sustainable solutions in the pet market.
The company is buying new machines and equipment for the Austrian plant of Korneuburg, as well as expanding the production area.
At the German plants in Halle and Steinfeld, Mondi further plans to renew its machinery to update the production of sustainable pre-made bag solutions for pet food, home and personal care.
“With this investment, we continue to lead the way in sustainable packaging solutions by design, especially in the pet food industry,” claimed Dirk Gabriel, Mondi’s Chief Operating Officer.
These expansions are part of the company’s €1 billion expansion program announced in March this year, which aims to maintain its leadership in the wet pet food packaging market. The packaging multinational also expects to accelerate growth in sustainable packaging as part of its Mondi Action Plan 2030 framework.
