New initiative gives away free vegan meals for dogs in restaurants

A plant-based pet food startup offers complimentary meals for pups dining with their owners in a few restaurants across UK cities to advocate for a meat-free diet in animals.

The action, which takes place in seven participating restaurants across Norwich, Bristol, Manchester, Brighton and London to celebrate Veganuary, aims to prove that plant-based is the future for humans and animals.

It also wants to promote dog-friendly environments in restaurants.

“When we first became pet parents we were shocked at how unfriendly most restaurants and cafes were towards dogs. We often talk about why this is and think that as the UK is a nation of dog lovers we need to start positively promoting the idea that dogs and their pet parents can dine together, said Damien Clarkson, the co-founder at PACK.

Pet parents will be able to choose from three nutritionally flavors; ‘No Fishy Dishy’, ‘No Moo Ragu’ and ‘No Cluck Casserole’, made with blends of pulses, proteins, seeds, fruits, vegetables, and superfoods.

PACK, which claims to be the first company worldwide to produce multiple plant-based meat analog wet dog food flavors, believes that this first action starts a “more positive relationship” between dogs and the UK hospitality industry.
