Pet supplies hit $300 million on Amazon Prime Day 2023
We dive into the pet brands that generated the most revenue in the US.
Pet supplies were the 12th most popular category in this year’s Amazon Prime Day, which took place on 11 and 12 July 2023.
According to Similarweb, the category reached sales of $300 million (€271M) during the annual deal event.
Pet supplement brand Zesty Paws was the top brand, with a revenue of $7.6 million (€6.8M). This is 9% more than in 2022’s Amazon Prime Day.
The Orlando-based company, part of the H&H Group, was the second most popular brand in 2021 and 2022.
Seresto, a firm that produces flea and tick collars for dogs and cats, hit $6.6 million (€5.9M) in sales during the 2-day event, followed by dog treats brand Temptations ($5.4M/€4.8M). According to Similarweb, both brands increased their performance by more than 11%.
Flea and tick protection brand Frontline hit sales of $4.9 million (€4.4M).
Pet food
From the list of top-performing brands, pet food companies begin to appear down the list from 5th and 6th place.
Mars’ dog food brand Cesar sold product worth $4.4 million (€3.9M), and Blue Buffalo hit $3.8 million (€3.4M).
Purina Pro Plan and Hill’s Science Diet sold $3 million (€2.7M) each during Amazon Prime Day 2023. Pet supplement brand PetHonesty hit $2.5 million (€2.2M) in revenue.
Accessories
This category also played an important role in Amazon Prime Day 2023.
Cat and dog hair remover ChomChom Roller hit $3.4 million (€3.1M) in sales. This brand achieved the largest growth in the category compared to the same event in 2022 (+17%).
Electronic training brand PetSafe sold $2.9 million (€2.6M) worth of products.
It is believed that 375 million products were sold worldwide during Prime Day 2023. Over the past 4 years, the number has grown by over 200%.
