Pet technology start-up wins Purina’s innovation competition

FluentPet has been awarded with the Grand Prize for Pet Care Innovation.

The California-based company is behind the FluentPet HexTile System, a way to combine recordable sound buttons and connecting HexTiles that enables dogs, cats, and other animals to express themselves and be understood by humans.

The winner, announced at last week’s Global Pet Expo in Orlando, will receive a funding of $10,000 (€9,100).

Launched in June of 2020 in San Dieefo, FluentPet uses cognitive science and academic research to make teaching, learning, and communicating easier for pets and their people. The company has generated over $7 million (€6.39M) in revenue.
