Pet Valu presents new subscription service

AutoShip allows Canadian pet parents to place recurring orders of essential products for home delivery or in-store collection.

Tanbir Grover, Chief Digital and Marketing Officer at Pet Valu, said this service is the latest convenience they introduced “to make it as easy as possible” for pet parents and ensure they always have their required products on hand.

“While subscription services are not new to the market, the big differentiator of Pet Valu’s subscription service from other Canadian pet retailers is the option to pick up your order in-store or have it shipped to your home,” highlighted Grover.

The Canadian retailer intends to expand its omnichannel capability with this new platform.

In February 2021, the retailer implemented a transaction site offering direct-to-consumer (DTC) delivery. Five months later, the company completed upgrades to its point-of-sale technology. In September 2022, Pet Valu also launched a click-and-collect service option throughout its retail locations.

Richard Maltsbarger, CEO of Pet Valu, shared his thoughts about this new service and other topics in an interview published in the October 2022 issue of PETS International.
