Ceva Animal Health and APC are among the companies that have announced strategic agreements in recent months. GlobalPETS has the details.
New collaborations across Asia, Europe and North America focus on veterinary care, product distribution, innovation and market expansion.
Sumitomo Corporation and A’alda Japan Group
Sumitomo Corporation, part of the Sumitomo Group – one of Japan’s largest conglomerates – has made a strategic investment in the veterinary hospital operator A’alda Japan Group. The move aims to strengthen the existing partnership, which began with an initial investment in 2024.
Under the partnership, Sumitomo Corporation will support A’alda’s efforts to improve its digital technologies, including the Vet360 electronic medical record system and the medical AI platform Vets Ask AI.
The conglomerate entered the animal health sector in the 1990s through the veterinary pharmaceutical raw materials business. It later expanded into pet care by operating The Hartz Mountain Corporation, a US-based pet product manufacturer and marketer.
A’alda owns, operates and manages a network of veterinary hospitals and veterinary clinical reference laboratories across Japan, India and Southeast Asia.
Tata Chemicals and Small Animal Hospital, Mumbai
A new memorandum of understanding (MoU) focused on advancing the science of pet health and nutrition has been inked between Tata Chemicals, a subsidiary of India’s largest multinational conglomerate Tata Group, and Advanced Veterinary Care Foundation (AVCF), operating as Small Animal Hospital, Mumbai (SAHM).
Tata Chemicals will leverage its research and development (R&D) capabilities across ingredient science, prebiotic nutrition and formulation development, alongside SAHM’s clinical expertise and understanding of therapeutic interventions in small animals.
The partnership aims to develop solutions in digestive health and nutrition, while addressing the rising demand for scientifically validated nutrition solutions.
AniVatio and Vetio UK

Through the collaboration, the companies will develop oral gel supplements that enhance palatability, product efficacy and compliance by combining AniVatio’s science-led formulations with Vetio UK’s product development and manufacturing capabilities.
Led by AniVatio Co-Founder and CEO Lisa Hilton, the partnership will introduce several patented innovations across the company’s cat and dog product portfolio. Vetio UK will also support AniVatio in rolling out its proprietary technology in multiple manufacturing sites worldwide, expanding its market reach.
APC and Anchor Ingredients
Supplier Anchor Ingredients will distribute the ingredients manufacturer APC’s plasma, red cell and specialty pet food ingredients to pet food manufacturers across North America under a new partnership.
The deal combines APC’s technical expertise and scientific support with Anchor Ingredients’ distribution and supply chain capabilities.
The Iowa-based manufacturer says its ingredients can be used in a range of pet food applications, including complete diets, toppers, supplements and treats.
