Suziria adds a new production facility in Ukraine

The Russian invasion played “a significant role” in accelerating the company’s production capacity expansion in the western part of the country.

The new facility in Kalush has been operating since September 2022. It produces the brand Priroda, which has been in the Ukrainian market for over 25 years.

“Launching a modern production facility in times of war is extremely difficult. But nothing is impossible if people love and know their business. We strongly decided to continue to invest in the pet industry, economy, and Ukraine even in such a tough time,” said Polina Kosharna, Co-owner, and Head of the Supervisory Board of Suziria Group.

The Kalush facility currently serves the domestic demand for bird and rodent food, but the company told GlobalPETS it plans to start exporting soon.

The new facility currently employs 23 people and expects to increase this to 45.

The second Suziria facility in Kharkiv (northeastern Ukraine) continues to operate “in limited security conditions.” The manufacturer had to halt its operations for a while, as GlobalPETS reported in March 2022.

Suziria is a Ukrainian family-led business active in the sector for 30 years and incorporates Suziria Production, Suziria Distribution, and the MasterZoo omnichannel chain of pet shops. The group operates all over the country and abroad, exporting products under its brands Priroda, ProVet, PET Fashion, Special One, Savory, and Essence.
