Symrise: pet food growth remains in the low single digits in Q3

Positive volumes supported the division after slight organic sales declines in the first half of the year.

Symrise’s pet portfolio posted low-single-digit organic sales growth in Q3 2026, supported by positive volume development in its palatability and nutrition businesses.

The Taste, Nutrition & Health segment, which includes the pet food division, generated €790 million ($881M) in sales in Q3, up from €736 million ($821M) a year earlier. Organic sales increased by 5.2%, driven by broad-based volume growth and stronger performance across the segment.

Symrise did not disclose specific revenue figures for its pet food division.

At group level, the German company reported organic sales growth of 5.3% in Q3, while revenue increased to €1.31 billion ($1.46B) from €1.22 billion ($1.36B) a year earlier.

Pet food division returns to growth

The pet division’s performance in Q3 marked a return to growth following a challenging first half of the year.

In Q1, Symrise reported low-single-digit organic growth in pet food, driven by palatability. Pet Nutrition, meanwhile, recorded a slight organic sales decline despite positive volumes, as prices normalized.

The pet food division again posted a slight organic sales decline in Q2.

Full-year outlook

For the first nine months of 2026, group sales reached €3.85 billion ($4.29B), representing organic growth of 3%.

The company reaffirmed its full-year 2026 outlook, targeting organic sales growth of 2% to 4% and an adjusted EBITDA margin of 21.5% to 22.5%.

Symrise expects organic sales growth to finish near the midpoint of its guidance range, although fourth-quarter growth is anticipated to moderate from Q3 levels because of higher year-on-year (YoY) comparables.
