These are the countries that spend the most on pet toys

A GlobalPETS survey reveals major differences in spending, habits and toy preferences among pet owners worldwide.
A global survey conducted by GlobalPETS and Loop reveals that American pet parents are the biggest spenders on pet toys, with 28% spending $100 (€85.05) or more on toys last year. This year, 1 in 5 have already spent the same amount so far.
They are followed by Canadian pet parents, 23% of whom spent $100 (€85.05) or more in 2024, with 1 in 8 reporting similar spending levels this year.

Spending habits
Notably, over 1 in 5 Brazilian pet owners did not purchase pet toys in 2024. Interestingly, despite being the biggest spender the previous year, nearly 18% of American pet owners reported never buying pet toys during the year.
On average, in 2024, pet owners in Brazil, France and Mexico bought toys 2 to 3 times, while Canadians and Americans purchased more than 6 times. In the UK, most pet owners buy their pets two to three times or more than 6 times a year.
When asked how often they intend to purchase pet toys in the next 12 months, most pet owners across all countries note that they plan to buy about the same amount. However, 18% of French pet owners say they expect to purchase less frequently, while 24% of Brazilian owners intend to buy more often.

For safety reasons, some pet owners also avoid specific toys. For instance, 60% of Brazilian dog owners avoid marrow bones, 63% of Canadian owners avoid rawhide bones and 53% of French dog owners avoid stuffed plushies.
In the UK, 69% of dog owners avoid rawhide bones, followed by 65% in the US and 45% in Mexico.
