These are the latest retail partnerships in the pet industry
GlobalPETS rounds up the most recent deals in the global pet retail sector.
Recent collaborations, such as Swedencare’s with Zooplus and Uproot Clean’s entry into the UK via Pets at Home, reflect an industry-wide effort to expand product access and respond to pet owners’ needs.
Swedencare
Swedish pet care firm Swedencare has partnered with online retailer Zooplus to expand its NaturVet supplement line in Europe.
The partnership will expand the chewable supplement range, including digestion solutions, arthritis relief, multivitamins, calming products, urinary health products, and senior pets, to all 30 Zooplus markets by the end of November.
This partnership enhances NaturVet’s visibility and strengthens Swedencare’s position in the pet care market. It also broadens Zooplus’ offerings in the rapidly growing pet supplies segment.
“This partnership gives pet parents more choices, further enhancing their experience, while we deliver on our promise to be the number one choice for pet parents across Europe,” commented Birgit Mildner-Weber, Head of Vendor Management Health & Wellness at Zooplus.
Unipart
The British global logistics firm has secured a 3-year contract with South Korean pet supply retailer Vanchanggo to deliver comprehensive e-commerce services from its 12,000-meter-square facility in Gyeonggi-do, the most populous province in the Asian country.
The company aims to optimize its supply chain to ensure a seamless and efficient logistics operation. The new partnership will support Vanchanggo’s growing business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) operations by streamlining its supply chain and logistics.
“With Unipart Korea’s exceptional logistics management capabilities, we expect to significantly enhance the efficiency of Vanchanggo’s product deliveries and further improve customer satisfaction, says Vanchanggo CEO Bongjun Kim.
Uproot Clean
The Florida-based lint and pet hair remover brand has expanded to the UK through a retail partnership with Pets at Home. The brand will launch 3 popular stock-keeping units (SKUs) across all Pets at Home locations and online.
Dan Fallak, Director of Wholesale at Uproot Clean, noted that the British retailer’s “well-documented” reputation for quality and service makes them an ideal partner for expansion.
“There’s a large gap in pet retail, with most pet retailers maybe only stocking the traditionally wasteful lint roller as a solution for the huge mess that pet hair can make,” adds Fallak.
Uproot Clean developed custom shelf-ready packaging alongside the team at Pets at Home.
Happy Howie
The American natural dog treat maker has entered the Canadian pet market through a distribution agreement with Kane Veterinary Supplies. The partnership pushes its product portfolio, including meat roll treats and burger chews, to over 180 local retailers.
“For many years, Canadian store owners contacted us asking when we would begin exporting our treats. It’s fantastic that we can now give them a way to order Happy Howie’s,” commented President David Collado.
Happy Habitats
Another American company, Happy Habitats, known for toys and accessories for small pets, is expanding across North America through a partnership with Canadian pet retailer Pet Valu.
The collaboration will bring its Halo Small Pet Carrier to more than 750 stores. The product is designed for mobility, allowing small pets like gerbils and hamsters to walk as owners carry them.
“Pet Valu is our first international retail partner, and we couldn’t think of a better company to work with,” says company CEO Ethan Haber.
