UK pet insurance player acquires pet tech app Perro

Tedaisy promises new features after the transaction. GlobalPETS has the details.
British-owned pet care app Perro will now be controlled by pet insurance group Tedaisy, which is also based in the UK and headquartered in Salisbury. Perro rewards pet owners for taking care of their dogs through various partnering retailers. The app already has over 10,000 users.
A Tedaisy spokesperson confirmed to GlobalPETS that the partnership will result in new features for customers, all focused on pet wellness and illness prevention.
The insurance group also aims to expand its pet healthcare offerings and welcomes the acquisition of the app.
A new and differentiated approach
The co-founder of Perro Josh Anderson says that its approach to technology alongside Tedaisy’s pet insurance and veterinary assistance marks a “move toward creating a new and differentiated approach to healthier, happier pets.” He adds, “Together, we look forward to bringing new expertise and experience to UK pet owners at the click of a button.”
Perro’s director, Josh Anderson, celebrated the partnership in a LinkedIn post. “Not only does this move recognize all the blood, sweat and tears that’ve been put into our product but it also provides us with a huge opportunity to further disrupt the pet industry and create better lives for our customers and their pets.”
New features could include training and exercise recommendations developed by expert trainers and Tedaisy’s in-house vet. The app will also soon offer a pre-vet visit symptom checker and a 24/7 telehealth helpline.
