UK unveils insect industry funding for greener animal protien production
The UK government has released a ￡10mln funding package to help building the country’s first large scale indusrtial insect farm and accelerate the develoment of sustainable food production systems.
The project, led by London based insect farmer Entocycle, will deliver a plant to rapidly convert food waste into insect animal feed for the aquaculture and pet food industry.
The project consortium involves a wide rnage of organisations uncluding fellow UK insect comapnies Better Origin and Beta Bugs, and other organisatiopns including UK’s largest supermarkt Tesco.
