Virbac acquires Turkish pet food distributor
The French company has been present in the Middle Eastern country for 20 years. How will this development change its business?
Veterinary pharmaceutical company Virbac’s Turkish subsidiary of the same name has acquired Mopsan, a specialized Turkish distributor of pet food and companion animal health products, for an undisclosed amount.
The acquisition will strengthen Virbac’s proximity to the companion animal health industry and grant it access to a team of 47 employees dedicated to its pet business.
Under the deal, Mopsan’s former Owner and Managing Director, Alican İngeç, will serve as the Managing Director for Virbac Turkey.
“By combining our experience in the field of pet health with Virbac’s global vision and standards, we will continue to work for animals in our country to live healthier lives and to be the biggest supporter of our sector stakeholders,” says Mopsan’s spokesperson.
Virbac has been present in Turkey for 2 decades through partnerships with various local distributors. However, it established a formal subsidiary in the country in 2018.
