This recent merger represents the most exciting new phase for Scampers since they started back in 1985 as a small pet shop in Soham called Piers Pet Foods.
Michelle and I have poured our hearts and souls into Scampers over the last 35 years running it together, but now feel it is right to take some time for ourselves and hand over the torch to Dean Richmond and his brilliant team of people at Pets Corner, who love pets just as much as we do. It’s time to be Mr and Mrs Smart, not Mr and Mrs Scampers.
Dean and I have a friendship that goes back 20 years and quite honestly there is no one else within the pet industry that I would rather have take over the future of Scampers.
Michelle and Piers know that Pets Corner are planning some amazing things including doggy daycare, grooming, puppy hour and a full makeover, while fully maintaining all our specialist ranges and our huge variety of unusual, natural and healthy products and most importantly all of our fabulous team of pet care advisors.
Just like Scampers, Pets Corner stores are fully independent and still family-run since being started in 1968 by Deans parents and also, like us, have won Best Pet Store in the UK multiple times.
All our favourite products, foods and treats are remaining on our shelves alongside many new lines being introduced by Pets Corner. All our reward and loyalty cards are continuing and our opening hours will remain the same. Scampers will still be called Scampers and will be a totally unique store within the Pets Corner family. Plus, please tell your dogs not to worry, the Tasting Table is getting a full makeover too!
Although we are technically retiring from the business Michelle and Piers will still be involved in much of the accessory buying, consulting and product innovation.
They would like to take this opportunity to thank all their customers, suppliers and most of all their incredibly loyal and hard-working team for all their love and support for Scampers over the last 35 years.
