The Kuwait-based pet retailer recently opened its first store in the Middle Eastern country.
Pet store chain Petzone opened its first location in Bahrain, offering 200 international brands, including food and supplies.
The new retail outlet’s setup consists of an aquarium and animal exhibits with on-site grooming services.
The new shop in Bahrain adds to the existing 50 locations across Gulf countries, most of them in Kuwait. Other locations include the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
Statista forecasts that Bahrain’s pet food market revenue will total $26.88 million (€24.46M) this year, with an annual growth of 4.44% until 2027.
Award-winning retailer
Petzone was recently awarded the Images ME e-Commerce Awards 2023, which took place in Dubai. The pet retailer was recognized as the “Most Admired e-Commerce Company of the Year in the Marketing and Customer Reach.”
In 2022, Petzone won 2 international recognitions: “Direct Retailer of the Year Award” by Retail Asia and “Most Admired Store Designs of the Year” by RetailME.
Petzone also received the Gold Award from PetQuip for International Retailer of the Year in 2021.
