AgroBiothers, which specializes in accessories, hygiene and care products, acquired the Danish dog grooming brand for an undisclosed sum, marking its second acquisition in the pet care sector within 2 years. KW is widely recognized for its premium dog shampoos and cleaning products.
GlobalPETS learned that under its Swedish subsidiary Gibbons, KW will receive a significant push in the Nordic markets, including Sweden, Finland, Norway and Germany. Both brands are expected to complete the merger by the end of the year.
KW joins the company’s existing brand portfolio, which includes Vétocanis in France’s hygiene and care segment and Bogar in Germany and Switzerland’s dental care market.
This acquisition strengthens AgroBiothers’ expertise in the pet hygiene and care sector, further solidifying its position as a major European player. The company says that the integration is part of a strategy aimed at “building a portfolio of expert and premium European brands.”
“KW is a unique, historic, premium and expert brand with strong growth potential in Northern Europe and beyond,” comments CEO Matthieu Lambeaux. “We are delighted to welcome KW into the group and enhance our brand strategy in Europe.”
Expanding market reach
Since 2020, AgroBiothers has increased its brand sales 2.5 times across Sweden, Norway and Finland.
The company’s spokesperson adds that it aims to strengthen its presence in the Northern European market by “continuing development in hygiene and care, in snacks, either with existing brands or through acquisition.”
