PetSmart becomes the first pet retailer in the country to join grocery delivery service Instacart.
Both companies announced a new partnership that allows pet owners in Canada to enjoy same-day delivery of pet supplies, food, accessories, and other products from its 150 stores in the North American country.
The catalog includes over 7,000 products ranging from toys, apparel, and litter to large items such as cat towers, dog crates, and aquariums. Users can avail of both same-day and scheduled delivery in as little as an hour, the company said.
PetSmart has become the first pet retailer in Canada to provide one platform for all essential pet items.
More demand
The collaboration comes into play as Canadian pet owners demand more efficient and convenient shopping options.
PetSmart’s Senior Vice President of Digital, Cherise Ordlock, said: “Our partnership with Instacart is a testament to our commitment to meeting our customers where they are and giving them more ways to shop with us.”
Blake Wallace, Senior Director of Verticals at Instacart, added that the pet industry is experiencing significant growth, and customers are “seeking efficient and seamless solutions” to care for their pets.
“We’re thrilled to partner with PetSmart and offer their vast selection of pet essentials for delivery across Canada.”
Currently, Instacart delivers from more than 4,000 stores across all 10 Canadian provinces.
