This is the new Chief Operating Officer at Zooplus
Supply chain expert Joost Bous will be key in the company’s growth plans.
Following the departure of former Zooplus Chief Operating Officer (COO) Dr. Mischa Ritter, the online retailer announced that Joost Bous will replace him in the post. He will also join the company’s Executive Committee.
Under his new role, Bous will oversee for all aspects of Zooplus’ operations, including fulfillment, linehaul operations and quality, supply chain management, and operational research and development.
“I am excited about the opportunity in our category, bolstered by the increase in pet ownership and digitization,” he said to GlobalPETS.
For Bous, the next stage for the company involves taking Zooplus’ “logistics and delivery network to the next level, to serve the customer base even more conveniently.”
What can he offer Zooplus?
Supply chain management is one of the new COO’s areas of expertise. He worked from 2017 to 2022 as the Supply Chain Director at the Dutch discount store-chain Action.
Last year, Bous ranked first in the 2022 Netherlands Top 26 Supply Chain Directors.
Bous’ background will be well-suited to Zooplus’ fast-paced business environment. Operating in 30 countries, the company is Europe’s leading online pet platform.
Zooplus commented on the news saying that Bous’ extensive experience will “enhance the company’s logistics footprint, drive customer-centricity, and elevate the overall customer experience.”
