The Maltese pet food manufacturer aims to expand the production of premium dry food and snacks.
The factory, which received an investment of €8 million, was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of Malta, Robert Abela.
The plant is expected to increase the “share and volume of trade” and minimize using non-renewable energy sources.
“Pet Nutrition House Limited aims to reduce its environmental footprint by switching to recycled or recyclable materials and significantly reducing plastic use,” said a company spokesperson.
The company also said that as of 2022, the packaging of all new products produced for pet food brand Prince and Princess is made from 100% recyclable materials.
Founded in 2001, Pet Nutrition House is the first pet food producer in Malta. It exports its products to a total of 70 countries, mainly to Europe and the Middle East.
