Pet South America : The leading trade show of the second largest pet market in the world

Pet South America has been the highlight of the South American pet and veterinary industry for more than a decade and expects to welcome more than 350 exhibiting brands and 24,000 visitors this year.

Established position

The 14th edition of the Pet South America trade show, the main platform for business and solutions in the pet and veterinary sectors in Brazil and South America, will be held from 27 to 29 October 2015 at Expo Center Norte in São Paulo, Brazil. The event, organised by NürnbergMesse Brazil, will unite veterinarians, animal scientists, owners of clinics and pet shops, breeders and groomers to exchange the latest news and innovations in the areas of animal health, pet food, hygiene and beauty, accessories and services.

Brazilian pet market

According to the Brazilian Association of Products for Pets (Abinpet), the Brazilian pet and veterinary sector has one of the highest turnovers in the world, second only to the US, with a turnover of over R$ 16 billion (€4.8 billion – $5.4 billion) in 2014, representing 0.34% of the Brazilian GDP. Brazil also ranks second in pet population with 106.2 million species, 37 million dogs and 21 million cats.

Highlights of the show

More than 350 national and international brands and approximately 24,000 visitors are expected to attend the event in 2015. The figures show that there are opportunities and new product launches in this promising market, especially for qualified visitors, with the 2014 event receiving 3,454 veterinarians, among other industry professionals.

Pet South America works in partnership with some important institutions of the industry. The Regional Council of Veterinary Medicine of São Paulo (CRMV-SP) and the São Paulo Society of Veterinary Medicine (SPMV) are among the organisations that will support the 14th Pet South America trade show.

The event also focuses on sharing knowledge among professionals and experts, through the Paulista Veterinary Specialties Congress. Organised by the São Paulo Society of Veterinary Medicine (SPMV), the audience for this specific congress is expected to be over 1,500 congressmen plus more than 40 confirmed speakers who will address current topics such as: anaesthesiology, cardiology, neurology, nephrology and urology, ophthalmology, among other things.
