Arcaplanet launches on-demand delivery service in Milan

The Italian pet retailer partners with Deliveroo to offer 5,000 pet supplies in the country’s second-largest city.
This new express home delivery service for pet supplies is starting in Milan and offers over 5,000 products through the Arcaplanet app, with deliveries fulfilled between 30 minutes and 1 hour.
“The collaboration with Deliveroo fits perfectly into our strategy of offering an unbeatable service to all Arcaplanet customers, also in terms of speed of delivery to your home,” says Arcaplanet CEO Nicolò Galante.
This new partnership builds on Arcaplanet’s ongoing efforts to strengthen last-mile delivery services.
The retailer also has in place a 1-hour delivery service, as Galante explained in a recent interview with PETS International. “Even Amazon can’t match this, so it’s a real competitive advantage,” he admits.
GlobalPETS learned that Deliveroo and Arcaplanet plan to scale their partnership to cover additional metropolitan areas in Italy.
Industry-wide race
This move reflects a broader trend among pet retailers, that are increasingly aligning with delivery platforms to keep pace with changing consumer expectations.
In France, Animalis CEO Frédéric Le Guen states the company’s goal is to “match Amazon’s delivery times” as it upgrades logistics and last-mile services.
In the US, Petco has also entered the quick commerce space by partnering with Uber Eats. Its range of pet products is available for on-demand delivery in select US markets.
Similarly, since January, the online delivery platform Just Eat has joined with British pet retailer Just for Pets as part of its growing on-demand delivery network.
A poll commissioned by the delivery platform in 2024 found that 77% of consumers in the UK, Germany and the Netherlands identify pet care as a category where they expect to be shopping on-demand in the future.
