Celebrity pet products: luxe care for furry friends

From designer pet apparel to celebrity-endorsed grooming lines, luxury pet care is booming as more A-listers are stepping into the industry.

The rise in pet ownership has led famous figures to launch customized, design-forward pet products. GlobalPETS rounds up the latest launches from A-listers.

Rare Beauty

American singer-songwriter Selena Gomez recently unveiled limited-edition dog toys to endorse her beauty brand Rare Beauty’s animal cruelty-free certification.

The toys, inspired by the brand’s bestsellers, offer stuffed versions of the products, called ‘The Soft Pooch Blush’ and ‘Pawfect Strokes Mascara.’

“Dog toys not only celebrate our new Leaping Bunny certification but also showcase our ongoing commitment to animal wellbeing,” a Rare Beauty press release states.

Kismet

Celebrity couple Chrissy Teigen and John Legend launched Kismet, a premium pet brand offering food and merchandise for modern dog families. Dr. Kwane Stewart, CNN Hero of the Year 2023, is the brand’s Chief Veterinary Officer. Kismet features two dry food recipes and treats made from freeze-dried chicken, beef and sweet potato, priced from $17.99 (€16.68).

“Beyond offering exceptionally high-quality food to nourish your dog, Kismet is here to provide thoughtfully designed lifestyle goods and engaging content for pets and their people,” Teigen and Legend say.

Draper James

Launched in 2015, Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon’s lifestyle brand includes clothing, accessories, home décor and now even pet accessories.

In August, Draper James introduced its new line of pet clothing and accessories, including leashes, collars, harnesses, bowls, bandanas and beds.

“For the dogs: Our new collection of pet gear allows your pup to look almost as stylish as you do,” the description reads.

Some items the brand has promoted online include its reversible harness, ‘Ditsy Print’ dog collar and polka dot food bowl.

American Riviera Orchard

Earlier this year, Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, introduced her new lifestyle and home goods brand, American Riviera Orchard, via a 9-grid Instagram post and a short video.

Since its soft launch, the Duchess’ lifestyle brand has distributed 50 bottles of strawberry jam to some of her A-list friends, with an announcement in July stating that the company will be working on other products.

According to Forbes, submitted documents suggest it could carry pet food, treats and pet gear alongside other cookware and home accessories.
