Dog snack startup co-founders named UK’s Animal Food Entrepreneur of the Year

James Lacy and Nathan Perry from Denzel’s have been recognized in the Food & Drink Heroes Awards.
London-based Denzel’s produces a range of healthy and sustainable snacks from 100% natural ingredients baked using eco-friendly carbon-neutral ovens. According to the company, their treats have no artificial additives or preservatives.
“We strongly believe that treating your pooch shouldn’t hurt our environment. Which is why Denzel and the team are on a mission to remove single-use plastic within the pet category, and help get more healthy paws on a healthier planet,” the company said after receiving the award.
Denzel’s was one of more than 700 applicants who were whittled down to 14 Food & Drink Heroes winners by a panel of expert judges, who valued the fact that Denzel’s products are authentic in terms of “being natural and sustainable.”
The company was launched in 2018 and received investment from Richard Branson’s venture capital Virgin StartUp. Their products are now available in over 2,000 locations across the UK, including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Jollyes, BP forecourts, SPARs and independent retailers.
