Elanco names new US pet health leader amid revenue loss in last quarter

Bobby Modi has been appointed new executive vice president to lead and grow the business and continue to transform the company’s digital strategy.

Modi brings two decades of increasing responsibility and expertise in marketing and sales, building and growing brands for companies like Procter & Gamble and J.M. Smucker. During his tenure at J.M. Smucker, Modi led the company’s pet portfolio transformation and marketing and had responsibility for the pet strategy and growth, e-commerce and innovation.

“Bobby’s proven track record of accelerating and expanding growth of existing portfolios and knowledge of our customers and pet owners make him ideally suited to lead the U.S. Pet Health business capitalizing on this attractive, growing market,” said Elanco’s president and CEO Jeff Simmons.

The company believes that Modi’s background in pet care makes him an excellent fit.”

He will oversee Elanco’s veterinary sales, retail and e-commerce teams, as well as Pet Health marketing and operations. He will also be involved in the launch of new products later this year.

Mody will join the company on March 14 and will serve on the company’s executive committee

The company recently reported global revenue of $1.1 billion (€980M) in the fourth quarter of 2021, a decrease of 2% against the same period of 2020. The company’s pet health revenue decreased by 1%.

Full-year revenue for 2021 marked $4.7 billion ($4.2B), an increase of 46%.
