Eldorado A/S celebrates 60th anniversary

Danish family-owned company and distributor of pet products has grown leaps and bounds since its inception in 1963.

The company was created after setting up a pet store in 1963 and made a name for itself in Denmark. In 2008, Eldorado was passed on to the second generation, and a few years later, in 2017, the company expanded with an office in Norway.

In 2019, the company acquired its largest competitor in the equestrian sector, Three Horses, a wholesaler specializing in equestrian clothing and equipment.

Eldorado then invested in Dansk Websalg in 2021, purchasing capital shares in the pet store.

Last year, the company constructed two new warehouses in Haderslev, Southern Denmark. The warehouses are expected to be up and running this year.

Big milestone
CEO Per Lausen said in a statement to GlobalPETS that he was humbled and proud to have reached the 6-decade milestone.

“As the second-generation owners of the company, my sister, co-owner of the company, and I hope to continue to grow and expand the business.”

Together they aim to build on the “healthy values and DNA of the company” and “reinvent” the company while making the “necessary changes to meet today’s demands with a future outlook.”

Looking ahead, Eldorado plans to be the “Nordic Champion” in the pet and equestrian industry by creating “value and unique” experiences.
