French fresh pet food startup raises €6 million
Pepette is planning to open a new facility to meet the growing demand for its prepared meals for cats and dogs.
The Paris-based start-up, which completed its first funding round of €1.1 million ($1.13M) in 2020, will also implement a dozen new profiles and plans to launch new recipes, products and services later in the year.
The company will continue its marketing investments and the development of services such as video nutrition consultations to promote the benefits of fresh food.
With this investment, the specialist in fresh food for cats and dogs intends to accelerate its development and will open a new production site of around 1,000m2.
The company seeks to take advantage of ultra-processed industrial food offerings and the concomitant obesity and overweight in 30% of pets to make food a “prevention vector” for the daily health and well-being of animals.
Founded in 2019, Pepette offers fresh subscription meals, based on ingredients suitable for human consumption and personalized according to the animal’s profile.
