Freshpet reorganizes its leadership team to support “rapid growth”

Heather Pomerantz, current Chief Financial Officer, has resigned to pursue new opportunities.

While Freshpet is looking for a new professional to replace Pomerantz, Vice Chairman Dick Kassar will serve as interim CFO.

Chief Executive Officer Billy Cyr noted the company is “grateful” for the efforts of Heather Pomerantz throughout the pandemic.

“During her tenure, we strengthened the company’s balance sheet, providing us the necessary capital to meet our long-term goals—including funding a capacity expansion plan that we expect to provide the foundation from which we can drive future growth,” he stated.

Freshpet also promoted Ricardo Moreno, current Vice President of Manufacturing, to Senior Vice President of Manufacturing and Engineering.

The company believes that the new set of appointments can be important in supporting its long-term objectives. Freshpet expects to post sales of $575 million in 2022, an increase of 35%.

The manufacturer is also optimistic about reaching $1.25 billion sales by 2025.

New consultants

Executive Vice President of Manufacturing and Supply Chain, Steve Weise, whose intention to retire was previously announced, will remain linked to the company as a consultant through 2023.

He will support improvements in the company’s quality assurance systems and other components of the company’s manufacturing and supply chain.

Jay Dahlgren, former Vice President of Operations at J.M. Smucker Company, is now serving as a consultant to Freshpet, with a focus on mitigating manufacturing and supply chain risks.
