From big box launches to regional partnerships, pet care brands step up expansion

Recent moves include Stella & Chewy’s rollout at Target, Tevra Brands’ Vetality launch at Walmart and Huxley & Kent’s distribution partnership.

Pet care players across the globe are teaming up with retail and distribution partners to expand their market presence and reach more owners.

GlobalPETS has observed a wave of activity across the pet care sector, with food, wellness and accessories brands expanding their presence through mass-market retail and new distribution partnerships.

Stella & Chewy’s

U.S. pet food Stella & Chewy’s is now available at Target stores nationwide, offering its freeze-dried raw and baked kibble products across the country. The brand has also been available online at Target.com since 31 August. “Target is an ideal partner for us because it’s where millions of pet parents already shop for their families,” says Dave Champlin, Chief Sales Officer at Stella & Chewy’s. 

Founded in 2003, Stella & Chewy’s offers dog and cat products, including freeze-dried dinner patties and meal mixers, frozen patties and morsels, raw-coated kibble, stews, broths and treats. 

Tevra Brands

American pet wellness company Tevra Brands rolled out a new line of wellness products under Vetality™ at Walmart stores in August 2025. The products include new digestive, pain support, functional and behavioral wellness items.

“Pet owners are increasingly prioritizing wellness for their animals just like they do for themselves. These Vetality products offer veterinarian-recommended support at a price point families can trust,” says Elizabeth Kroll, VP of marketing at Tevra Brands.

Headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, Tevra Brands develops vet-quality solutions for pet health, wellness and pest protection. The company currently offers products under two brands: Vetality and TevraPet.

Huxley & Kent

Tennessee-based pet toy and accessories maker Huxley & Kent entered into a distribution partnership with Fauna Foods, a family-owned pet products distributor serving independent pet retailers across New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Through this partnership, Fauna will distribute a lineup of Huxley & Kent’s best-selling toys and accessories. 

Founded in 2012, Huxley & Kent is a women-owned brand dedicated to designing and producing a wide range of fashionable and functional pet products, including toys, neckwear accessories, hats and harnesses. 

McLovin’s Pet

McLovin’s Pet, the pet nutrition brand of Caduceus Software Systems Corp (CSOC), launched its premium pet treats and meals in Petco retail locations and on Petco.com.

Currently, McLovin’s has 15 SKUs in Petco stores nationwide, with projected annual sales expected to reach $6 million. McLovin’s product line at Petco includes a selection of its best-selling freeze-dried treats and complete meals, made with premium proteins and free from artificial preservatives, colors and fillers.

McLovin’s Pet is a California-based manufacturer and distributor of premium pet nutrition products. It specializes in natural, freeze-dried raw treats and meals.

Kormotech

Ukrainian pet food manufacturer Kormotech enters the Estonian market following an agreement with major distributors in the region. According to the company, the undisclosed partner will be responsible for driving sales in traditional retail and specialized pet stores, as well as supporting the company’s entry into e-commerce.

The agreement brought several of Kormotech’s brands to Estonia, including Optimeal, Club 4 Paws, Delickcious and My Love. “My Love, in particular, is seeing rapid growth following its redesign,” says Kormotech.

“Estonia is a key part of our regional strategy through 2028. We are here to strengthen our position among the category leaders,” says Maksym Tsymbal, Country Manager for the Baltic Region.

The Bones & Co.

Texas-headquartered pet food maker The Bones & Co. formed a distribution partnership with Independent Pet Supply (IPS), a family-owned distributor serving retailers across 6 states. The partnership will expand its retail footprint across Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana.

The Bones & Co. produces raw pet food made with 95% meat, organs and bones, focusing exclusively on independent brick-and-mortar retailers and avoiding online sales.

“At IPS, we believe organically sourced ingredients and local production are vital, and The Bones & Co. embodies both values. This partnership ensures independent retailers across the Pacific Northwest, Alaska and Hawaii have easier access to one of the fastest-growing raw brands in the industry,” says Keya Khorami, owner of Independent Pet Supply.

Zomedica Corp

American vet health company Zomedica Corp has partnered with Pioneer Veterinary Products Limited, a UK-based veterinary distributor. 

Pioneer will lead sales and support for the small animal market on an exclusive basis and act as a non-exclusive distributor for equine products, expanding the availability of Zomedica’s innovations across the UK.

Zomedica’s TRUFORMA diagnostic platform will be distributed throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Meanwhile, the introduction of VETGuardian remote monitoring technology is planned at a later stage.

“As we move forward, we expect to include additional Zomedica products in this arrangement. The UK is a critical market, and we’re confident that this relationship will accelerate our growth and support veterinary professionals in delivering outstanding care,” says Kevin Klass, Senior Vice President of Sales at Zomedica.

Montego Pet Nutrition

South African pet food company Montego Pet Nutrition is expanding its US footprint with strategic distribution partnerships with Rio Grande Service Center. It will boost the nationwide rollout of Montego Pet Nutrition’s dog treats, Karoo Wild, to 22 states.

“Rio Grande Service Center is proud to partner with Montego Pet Nutrition, a family-owned company whose dedication to quality and innovation mirrors our own,” says Trent Green, CEO of Rio Grande Service Center. Founded in 2000, Montego Pet Nutrition currently exports to more than 20 countries.

The Buffalo Co

English pet food maker The Buffalo Co has entered an exclusive partnership with DECCO, the UK’s largest garden center wholesaler, to expand its reach in pet and garden retail.

The Buffalo Co offers natural dog treats and eco-friendly accessories. The partnership will allow the brand to benefit from DECCO’s nationwide logistics network. The partnership includes innovative products such as ThermaCool Dog Bowls and Buffalo Bites, featuring clip-on carabiners. 

The Buffalo Co is a Warwickshire-based family-owned business specializing in pet treats since 1987.
