The future of UK’s Danish Design

The Swedish pet product supplier Petcare Group has recently acquired the West Yorkshire pet accessory brand.
Danish Design currently focuses on sales within the UK market, but with the Petcare Group takeover, it will have the opportunity to access new markets through the group’s existing distribution channels.
The deal will enable the UK brand to enhance product offerings, strengthen supply chains, and improve overall customer experiences.
“The addition of Danish Design to our group further enhances our product portfolio, with Danish Design becoming our sole brand of pet bedding,” commented Sebastian Sandholm, Co-Owner of Petcare Group.
Danish Design Founder Stuart Newsome expressed confidence that with the support of Petcare Group, the brand will continue to deliver high-quality products and services.
Consolidation in the UK
Danish Design has gained a reputation for being a market leader in premium pet bedding in the UK, manufacturing a range of products, including slumber beds, duvets, snuggle beds, and dog coats.
The company said that the acquisition is also expected to bring significant benefits to both companies and presents exciting opportunities for growth in Great Britain.
With Petcare Group becoming the majority owner of Danish Design, the founding family will continue managing the company as a minority shareholder, led by Annelise Lockley. The company’s Founders, Stuart and Susanne Newsome, will retire from the business with a phased exit.
