H&H pet revenue declines in China but grows in North America

Revenue from the Hong Kong-based company’s pet supplements portfolio increased 3.5% in the first nine months of 2026.

H&H Group’s Pet Nutrition and Care (PNC) segment reported revenue of RMB 442 million ($66.3M/€59.2M), the third quarter (Q3) of FY2026, ended 30 September.

This is down 13.5% year-over-year (YoY). On a like-for-like (LFL) basis, revenue declined 9.3%.

By product segment, pet supplements generated revenue of RMB 335.8 million ($50.3M/€45.0M), down 13.1% YoY. On an LFL basis, revenue fell 8.4%.

According to Akash Bedi, Group CEO and CEO for North America, the Middle East and India, the decline was primarily attributable to differences in the timing of key promotional events, including Amazon Prime Day.

The Hong Kong-based company also cited differences in the timing of new retail account launches and expansions of existing retail accounts compared with Q3 2025.

Nine-month results

For the first nine months of FY2026, PNC revenue declined 3.6% on a reported basis to RMB 1.53 billion ($229.7M/€205.3M), while pet supplements revenue increased 3.5% to RMB 1.19 billion ($177.9M/€159.0M). On an LFL basis, the revenue for the category grew 0.2% and pet supplements grew 8.1%.

In mainland China, revenue for the pet portfolio declined by 36.3% over the nine-month period. H&H said it remained focused on growing Solid Gold’s high-margin pet food and supplements, which contributed 46.8% of PNC revenue in the market during the period.

In North America, PNC revenue grew 9.3% on an LFL basis over the first nine months, supported by Zesty Paws and Solid Gold, whose sales grew 8.8% and 7.3% on an LFL basis, respectively.

H&H attributed North American demand to structural factors including changing demographics, rising pet populations and established trends in premium pet nutrition and pet humanisation.

Group overview

H&H Group’s total revenue increased 25.5% on a reported basis to RMB 4.75 billion ($712M/€637M) in Q3. Like-for-like growth was 25.8%. The company attributed growth to investment in strategic product launches and initiatives targeting core and selected expansion markets.

For the first nine months of FY2026, Group revenue rose 24.5% on a reported basis to RMB 13.45 billion ($2.02B/€1.80B), while LFL growth was 24.4%. Growth was driven primarily by the Adult Nutrition and Care (ANC) and Baby Nutrition and Care (BNC) segments.

Outlook

For the remainder of 2026, H&H said it would continue to support growth through strategic product launches and targeted marketing initiatives.

Within PNC, the company plans to expand Zesty Paws’ distribution and develop products in new categories, while accelerating Solid Gold’s growth in high-margin categories and e-commerce channels, with both initiatives focused on North America.
