New round of C-suite appointments
Key leadership changes unfold as Central Garden & Pet, Woof and Brew, Himalayan Pet Supply, Independence Pet Group, and ADM announce strategic appointments.
Central Garden & Pet CEO
American retailer Central Garden & Pet has announced that Tim Cofer plans to resign from his role as CEO effective as of 6 October.
He will be replaced temporarily by Beth Springer, who currently works as Lead Independent Director. Springer has worked at the company for over 10 years at the company and is assuming the role of interim CEO while the board conducts a comprehensive search for a permanent successor.
New board addition Woof and Brew
British pet drink maker Woof and Brew has announced the appointment of Peter Pritchard, former CEO of pet retailer chain Pets at Home, to the company’s board. He will act as an investor and director to develop a ‘hydration for dogs’ category for brands Posh Pooch and Bottom Sniffer Beer.
“With Peter on board, there is nothing to stop us [from] achieving our dreams to become one of [the] UK’s most important pet companies and provide pets all over the world with the ultimate in nutritious and high-quality drinks for beloved companions,” says Woof and Brew co-founder Steve Bennett.
Woof and Brew has recently expanded its footprint across Europe and the US. It is sold through pet specialty retailers, supermarkets, online marketplaces, hotels, cafes and restaurants.
Himalayan Pet Supply leadership
Nate Kredich has been named the new President of Himalayan Pet Supply, a business unit from Californian pet food manufacturer Primal Pet Group.
Kredich will drive overall strategy and sustainable growth for the Himalayan and EcoKind businesses. Kredich makes this move from his Chief Operating Officer position at The Honest Kitchen.
“We selected Nate for this critical leadership role because he has a strong track record for helping businesses, including some in the pet category, grow and scale through continuous improvement,” says Jon Balousek, CEO at Primal Pet Group.
New key appointments at Independence Pet Group
Independence Pet Group (IPG), one of North America’s largest pet insurance and services organizations, recently announced new key appointments.
Sammi-Jo Nevin has been named Chief Commercial & Administrative Officer. In addition to leading IPG’s Legal and Compliance teams, Nevin will build the company’s insurance business through new distribution channels and oversee its industry and government relations activities.
The change is expected to push overall insurance growth, targeting segments from revenue to partnerships.
Samantha Watson has been appointed Chief Strategy Officer to push the company’s growth and performance in the global pet industry through new strategies and innovations.
“With these changes, we are even better positioned to continue elevating IPG as a leader in the pet insurance and broader pet care ecosystem,” comments Lane Kent, CEO of IPG.
ADM Senior Vice President
Regina Bynote Jones has recently taken over the role of Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary at the animal nutrition company ADM. She is replacing D. Cameron Findlay, who will retire this year after a decade in the position.
Jones is expected to oversee the company’s global legal and regulatory affairs, compliance initiatives, security operations and government relations efforts from the company’s Chicago global headquarters.
