Packaged goods accelerator expands to pet care

Austin-based SKU aims to boost brands in the fast-growing segment.
SKU, the first accelerator program in the United States for consumer-packaged goods (CPGs), has opened applications for its first cohort focused exclusively on pet care brands after the boom in the industry.
“SKU has had several pet care alumni go through past tracks, and combined with the exciting growth in the pet care industry, now was the perfect time to launch a track dedicated to the pet care space,” said Emily Kealey, Managing Director of SKU.
The program will include weekly classes focused on helping pet care brands scale, as well as mentoring by seasoned industry executives. The mentors, including the director of emerging brands for convenience store chain 7-Eleven and the founder of pasture-raised eggs producer Vital Farms, will help pet care leaders to achieve their “full potential.”
“Through our mentors, partners, and sponsors, our unique ecosystem gives us the opportunity to accelerate these pet care founders so they can make a lasting change in the industry,” added Kealey.
The accelerator program will run for 12 weeks from late August to mid-November 2023, and applications close on 4 June 2023.
