Pet Food Institute appoints new Chairperson

Nina Leigh Krueger, CEO at Nestlé Purina North America, will lead the trade association in 2023 along with some newly appointed board officials.
The Pet Food Institute (PFI) revealed its 2023 board office holders, most of them representing pet food and supplement manufacturers.
Along with Nina Leigh Krueger, the association appointed Scott Salmon, President of Simmons Pet Food Inc., as Vice Chair; Nicki Baty, President of Hill’s Pet Nutrition US, as Secretary; Rod Troni, Global Chief Marketing Officer of Champion Petfoods, as Treasurer; and Scott Morris, President, and CEO of Freshpet, as Personnel Officer.
“We are excited about our 2023 board officers, who will each bring diverse experience and expertise to Pet Food Institute’s Board,” said Dana Brooks, PFI’s President, and CEO. She added that the new members will “work diligently” to represent the interests of pet food makers.
Krueger, who has been with Purina for 30 years and served as PFI’s Vice Chair in 2022, said: “Collaboration and transparency are cornerstones of PFI’s mission and are critical as we work together to earn the trust of pet parents every day.”
