Pets at Home strives to become the “most sustainable” pet care brand in the world

The popular UK pet retailer has made a strategic investment to become a pioneer in offering an eco-conscious range of in-store pet accessories.

Pets at Home’s agreement with the Project Blu manufacturer will allow the sale of sustainable and ecofriendly pet beds, collars, leashes and toys.

“This agreement demonstrates a continuing commitment to our social value strategy and importantly creates further opportunities for additional sustainability initiatives in a rapidly growing segment of the market”, commented David Robinson, Chief Operating Officer of Pets at Home.

The company will be the first UK retailer to provide the brand’s full product range, available across its 457 stores and online from early July 2022.

Project Blu CEO Geryn Evans welcomes the arrival of the brand in UK stores given that it is “addressing an important gap in the market”, as there’s a “strong demand for products that are great for both pets and the planet.”

Founded in Wales in 2019, Project Blu manufactures in Italy, with a focus on converting polluting materials into eco-friendly pet beds, collars, leashes and toys. The company works with leading brands and retailers to enhance sustainability across a wide range of business operations.
