Quick delivery becomes routine for busy pet owners

A new white paper from Just Eat Takeaway shows that more owners rely on rapid delivery to avoid running out of essentials.
On-demand delivery – the fulfillment of items within an hour of the order – is gaining traction as more pet owners seek convenience and flexible shopping options to regain balance in their daily lives.
Across the UK, Germany and Canada, 54% of consumers expressed interest in on-demand delivery for pet care products, according to a white paper by quick delivery player Just Eat Takeaway.
Quick delivery for pet owners
In the last 12 months, Just Eat Takeaway delivered 1.8 million pet care orders, reflecting growing use of on-demand services among busy pet owners. The category is the third-most-popular in the app.
The company’s research also reveals that 65% of pet owners say they’ve felt guilty when they ran out of their pet’s favorite food or treats at a critical moment.
Just Eat Takeaway has partnered with pet retailers such as Just for Pets in the UK, Fressnapf Maxi Zoo in Germany and PetSmart in the US.
Varying needs across markets
Lifestyle routines and cultural trends are shaping why on-demand delivery is increasingly important for consumers, including pet owners.
The survey, conducted among over 3,000 consumers across the UK, Germany and Canada, found that 3 in 5 respondents admit feeling busy.
In Canada, this sentiment is strongest, with 63% agreeing, compared with 61% in the UK and 50% in Germany.
Meanwhile, 82% of consumers overall say it’s important to feel confident and empowered to make decisions that are right for them. This sentiment was highest in Canada (87%), followed by the UK (84%) and Germany (76%).
