Turnover and loss of Zooplus in 2018
In 2018 Zooplus generated a turnover of €1.3 bln, an increase of 21% opposite of 2017. However, they generated a loss of €2.1 mln.
In 2017 the profit before tax has been €4.1 mln, in 2018 it turned to a loss of €2.1 mln. However, in 2018 they made further investment in marketing, logistics and IT. A main part of the investments is based on optimizing client loyalty as well as to get new clients on board. In 2018 the 95% of the clients returned opposite of 93% in 2017.
For 2019 Zooplus expect an increase of the turnover between 14% and 18% and a gross profit of €10-30 mln.
Furthermore, Zooplus will deliver additional services via the online platform. By this spring consumers will be able to consult veterinarians. For this service, over 30,000 veterinarians will be added to the platform.
Also, other additional services will be added f.i. breeders will be connected to the platform as well as options for insurance and additional services in the area of pet care, dog walking service, etc.
