Veramaris hires pet food ingredients sales expert

To strengthen its position in the pet food market in Europe, Veramaris hires Jean-François Laudouze.

Ladouze will join as Global Business Development Manager, Companion Animals for Veramaris Pets, following the launch of the sustainable Omega-3 algal oil into the pet food industry in July 2020.

After initial sales in the US and Canada, Veramaris Pets was introduced to the global market. With demand in Europe expected to grow significantly in 2022, the company is building a team of experts to focus on developing business in key markets with Laudouze in Europe.

Laudouze was previously EMEA Sales Director at Diana Pet Food, a leading supplier of high value solutions for the pet industry.

Commenting on his appointment, Jean-Francois Laudouze said: “It’s a pivotal time for Veramaris and its Pets business. I believe there is huge long term potential for Veramaris to grow within the European pet food industry. I am delighted to be joining a team with very ambitious plans.”

Veramaris’ CEO Karim Kurmaly said: 

“Pet ownership has increased significantly since the pandemic which has led to a huge demand for pet food. Europe is a key growth market and Jean-Francois will play an important role in communicating the benefits of an algae-based source of Omega-3 to responsible pet food brands.”
